Chanukah commemorates a story in which Jews are told to convert or die. It makes little sense to me why you would think Christians should celebrate the holiday, since you also want us to convert.

Jews have been told to convert or die many times in history. As I’m sure you know, Chanukah commemorates this Jewish victory in reclaiming the temple. Messianic Christians don’t believe Jews need to convert to Christianity. We acknowledge the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua, as a savior for all mankind and desire that Jews will as well. All the original (thousands of) followers of Yeshua were Jewish; they evangelized Gentiles to also follow the Jewish Messiah; when this mixed group was told to convert or die is when Christianity split off from it’s Jewish roots. The goal of this website is to help Christians reconnect with the Jewish roots of their faith, not to get Jews to convert to Christianity. Being a nature lover, you might appreciate this explanation. I appreciate your comment. Thanks for visiting my blog.
